Interconnect Clearinghouse Nigeria Chooses Dialogic to Deliver Interconnection Services in Africa

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Lagos, Nigeria (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 Dialogic Inc. the Network Fuel® company, today announced that Interconnect Clearinghouse Nigeria (ICN), a company licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide and operate Interconnect Exchange Services throughout Nigeria, has deployed the Dialogic®ControlSwitchâ„¢ System softswitch and Dialogic's I-Gate® 4000 PRO Media Gateways (MGWs) to provide scalable connectivity services to handle national and international inter-carrier voice traffic.

"We chose Dialogic because it offered us an end-to-end solution with true redundancy and scalability that would work seamlessly with our Mobile Number Portability (MNP) platform provided by Ericsson," said Uche Onwudiwe, chief operating officer, ICN. "Also the strong references for Dialogic products and services we received from major players in the global wholesale switching community provided us the confidence to select Dialogic as the company we want to help us -long term- deliver services to the Nigerian telecommunications market." As part of its ongoing commitment to being the preferred networks integration and service delivery company for the Nigerian market, ICN selected Dialogic's service provider infrastructure solutions to replace its existing end-of-life switching technology. Dialogic along with Silicon Villa, a growing telecom reseller and systems integrator, teamed up to deploy the ControlSwitch System and I-Gate PRO MGWs in a geographically redundant configuration across three locations in Nigeria to provide connectivity and enable MNP services for ICN's customers including Airtel, MTN, Glo Mobile and Etisalat.

Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing and product management at Dialogic, said, "Dialogic is thrilled to be working with companies like ICN to help deliver new functionality to the African market. The ControlSwitch System and I-Gate PRO MGWs are handling millions of minutes a day of both TDM and IP voice traffic and can easily scale well past that to meet the growing needs of ICN." Mohamed Wade, Silicon Villa's chief executive officer, said, "Silicon Villa takes pride in bringing Dialogic Next Generation Network (NGN) technology to Nigeria. We are excited about this first opportunity to support the country's leading interconnect exchange and are committed to a long-term relationship with ICN as it grows."
