Molex Highlights Brad® MX-PTL™ M12 Cordsets at PACK EXPO

LISLE, Ill. --(Business Wire)--

Molex Incorporated announces it will highlight its complete line of industrial cordsets at PACK EXPO, November 2-5, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. At booth S-4150, Molex (News - Alert) also plans to focus on its Brad® MX-PTL™ M12 cordsets.

The push-to-lock mating feature of the MX-PTL makes it easy to use with industry-standard M12 receptacles and requires much less twisting than traditional threaded connectors. End users-including machine builders, integrators and OEMs-simply push the cordset into a female M12 receptacle to meet IP65 Ingress Protection on their connections. Turning the Brad MX-PTL M12 coupling nut one or two revolutions secures the connection to meet IP67 ratings. The connector is designed to work with any standard M12 I/O block currently available in the market.

The Brad MX-PTL M12 connector can replace threaded M12 connectors in applications that include industrial automation, automotive/commercial vehicle, and lighting.

"Delivering increased productivity and cost savings, MX-PTL M12 connectors surpass the performance and reliability of traditional threaded connectors and facilitate quick connections to I/O blocks," said Nathan Caughel, global product manager, Molex.

MX-PTL M12 cordsets have several additional features and benefits, including:

  • Backward compatibility allows mating to standard M12 threaded receptacles.
  • Minimized risk of disconnect in high-vibration envronments.
  • Visual and tactile keyway alignment that eliminates frustration during installation in tight locations.

"When large numbers of sensors and actuators are being installed or updated in factory automation applications, slow installation times can disrupt operations and increase costly downtime," said Caughel. "Brad MX-PTL M12 cordsets address these concerns with quick-and-reliable push-to-lock connections, enabling faster installation times and the same connectivity benefits of threaded M12 connectors-without any price increase."

The weld slag and oil resistant (WSOR) cordsets feature 3, 4 or 5 poles and are initially available in cable lengths of 1.0m and 0.3m. Additional lengths and cable types are available upon request.
