overstockArt.com Launches New eCommerce Web Shop Now in Public Beta

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Wichita, Kansas (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 overstockArt.com unveiled today its brand new website that is destined to replace the current online gallery. The store has been in development for almost a year and even though it is fully operational, overstockArt.com management decided to make the big shift to the new platform after the busy holiday season.

"This new innovative store is the future of overstockArt.com," said Amitai Sasson, VP of Marketing & Development at overstockArt.com, "We have been developing this store for the past year and we are so excited with the end results, we think it's going to wow our customers and give them a much better shopping experience." Sasson explains that the premise of the shift to a new platform came in order to improve operations and improve the way the art and frames are displayed to customers. We wanted to provide customers with a better feel for the art and an easier way to gauge the way the art will look on their wall.

"Our current solution, as great as it may be, does not do our oil paintings justice. On our new website, customers will be able to have a better feel of how the art actually looks like and browsing the gallery is much more intuitive. The new website makes shopping for art easier and a lot more fun." The new website is now opened to 'public beta' on http://www.overstockArt.co and is planned to be completely live by January 2015. The store is built on an open source eCommerce infrastructure called OpenCart and is hosted on the powerful Amazon Web Services computing cloud.

This new website is the focal point of overstockArt.com's strategic plan to improve the company's technology and customer experience. In May the company released the newly designed Artist Become (ArtistBe.com) artist community platform and the following month, overstockArt.com released an innovative new iPad App. In addition to all of the bells and whistles, the new overstockArt.com website also boasts a responsive design that is destined to improve shopping experience on mobile devices.
