Bexar County Sheriff's Office Selects NEC Multimodal Identification Biometric SolutionIRVING, Texas --(Business Wire)-- NEC (News - Alert) Corporation of America (NEC), a leading technology integrator of advanced solutions including multimodal biometric solutions, today announced that its Integra-ID™ Multimodal Biometric Identification System (MBIS) solution was selected by the Bexar County, Texas, Sheriff's Office (BCSO) to replace an existing Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). As the fourth largest county in Texas, home to San Antonio, and one of the top 20 largest counties nationally, BCSO was seeking to secure the future safety and security of its residents by acquiring an MBIS solution with the best technology, best value, and lowest risk proposition. BCSO selected NEC after a thorough, open and highly competitive solicitation for this new leading multimodal technology solution. A multimodal biometric system incorporates the latest, most accurate developments in biometric identification technology.
