(Winnipeg Free Press (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ryan Hemsworth's Free Digital Box Set ó bit.ly/ryan_hemsworth LEADING up to the release of Alone for the First Time on the Last Gang label on Nov. 4, Juno-winning electronic artist Ryan Hemsworth is releasing a free "career-spanning digital box" via BitTorrent, packed with seven albums, nine singles plus exclusive photos and even a handwritten note.

Hemsworth continues to embrace the digital distribution of his music; although his new album will be a traditional release, you can bet there will be a host of free downloads and remixes associated with it. Not many other artists understand the changing nature of the music industry -- or are willing to break new ground for fans -- the way Hemsworth does.

ESPN Chalk ó espn.go.com/espn/chalk/ EVEN a few years ago, many media outlets refused to talk about the connection between gambling and professional sports. That's all changed, with sports giants such as ESPN carefully embracing the fact that pro sports are increasing driven by fantasy leagues and grey-market gambling.

While online destinations like Grantland, Covers and Sportsnet are no strangers to gambling-related content, ESPN Chalk is a new portal launched by the network that tries to capitalize on this growing market. From the latest odds to match breakdowns, stats and popular podcasts such as Chad Millman's Behind the Bets, ESPN Chalk is becoming an important resource for sports fanatics looking to get an edge in their fantasy leagues, track down some stats or see what other gamblers think about the big game.

Stream of the Week: Marilyn Manson -- Third Day of a Seven Day Binge ó bit.ly/new_marilyn_manson WITH a recurring role on the popular biker show Sons of Anarchy, a new single and an album in the works for next year, 2014 has already been a successful year for former shock rocker Marilyn Manson. While the doom and gloom has been dialed back, Third Day of a Seven Day Binge may be the best new music from Manson in years.

It's been 20 years since the debut of his breakthrough release, Portrait of an American Family -- could Manson's new album be the triumphant return he's been searching for? Video of the Week: Temple of the Dog -- Hunger Strike (Live) ó bit.ly/totd_video FORMED during the early days of grunge in Seattle in 1990 as a way to pay tribute to the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog featured Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron, former MLB members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.

Releasing just one album, in 1991, the band got a lot more attention after Pearl Jam blew up. Recently, Cornell joined Pearl Jam onstage to perform Temple of the Dog's Hunger Strike at the 28th Annual Bridge School Benefit.
