He will be responsible for market development activities in the Greater China region, Japan and Korea.

Steven is a Chinese native with 26 years of experience working in mainland China, the last 19 with foreign invested companies, where he accumulated a deep and highly diversified understanding into the operations and culture of western enterprises.


Prior to joining A.M. Best, Steven held positions of increasing responsibility for 10 years in global insurance brokerages in China, including Marsh (Beijing) Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd and as head of the Chengdu Branch of Willis Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd where he led the local team providing a full spectrum of services to enterprises in western China ranging from MNC, SOE to private companies. Additionally, Steven was named a Board Member of the Southwest Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), providing volunteer services to local European companies and playing an active role in other foreign societies in Chengdu.

Steven holds a master's degree in economics, with a focus in insurance from the Southwestern University of Finance & Economics, and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Shenyang Institute of Technology, with a focus in mechanical design. His master's thesis was published in Insurance Studies, a leading Chinese insurance industry journal.
