(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ericsson has been contracted by Algerie Telecom (AT) for the transmission and expansion of its broadband network to provide residential users triple-play services and enterprises with secure networking over virtual private networks (VPNs).

As per the contract, Ericsson by using its SSR 8000 Provider Edge (PE) and BNG applications will be responsible for merging the existing network functions for a simple and scalable architecture.

This new infrastructure based on Ericsson will provide the reliability, scalability, performance and flexibility for enabling us to offer more and better choices to both residential and enterprise customers, said AT s CEO Mohamed Sebaa.
