With its thickness at just 4.85mm, it easily claims the crown of the world's thinnest smartphone engineered till date with a hand-polished aluminum alloy frame. The device weighs just 155g and sports a beautiful 5.2-inch AMOLED FullHD display with 423ppi. Backing the premium smartphone is Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, which makes the R5 the first 64-bit smartphone from Oppo. Perhaps the right time when Android 5.0 Lollipop is about to be baked out. But, the R5 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with a mix of Color OS 2.0. The RAM consists of a 2GB module. It's said that Oppo used special phase-changing cooling materials to cool the chipset, much like the ones found on PC Motherboards. Moving on to the optics, the rear snapper features the 13MP IMX214 image sensor from Sony with f/2.0 aperture. The front snapper is a decent 5MP camera. Connectivity includes LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 and the battery is rated at 2000 mAh with rapid charging feature. The Oppo R5 is set for $499 (1832 AED) price tag, although no mention of release dates yet. The R5's patented heat dissipation technology "Cool Element" protects its octa-core CPU, in turn prolonging the life of the phone. With the latest PI 2.0 Plus Flash Shot technology, the R5 lets you take the shot with an imperceptible focus time – it has a maximum focus time of 0.18 seconds and delivers 50MP high-definition picture clarity. The R5 allows for vibrant and stunning ? pictures in low light environments, providing the best photographs with the world's slimmest smartphone. In addition to add to its user-friendly functionalities, the R5 also includes OPPO's VOOC mini rapid charging system, where a 30-minute charge will provide 75% battery life and a five-minute charge will allow for a two-hour call.
