ACER ICONIA A1-713 Taiwanese personal computer vendor Acer has announced the launch of the ICONIA A1-713 tablet PC for Rs 12,999. The tablet comes with 3G connectivity and voice calling functionality. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is upgradable to 4.4 (Kitkat). The tablet features a 7-inch display with 1024x600 resolution. It packs in a 2-megapixel rear camera along with a 0.3-megapixel front camera. For connectivity, Acer has added 3G, Wi-Fi, micro-USB, and Bluetooth 4.0. The device has a 3400mAh battery and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The tablet comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card.



MAPMYINDIA BUZZ MapmyIndia has launched a new Android-based navigation tablet, Buzz. It is claimed to be an ideal rear-seat companion for Smart/Connected Cars with enterprise-grade GPS Chipset. Buzz runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS and has a 7-inch TFC LCD screen. It has a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3.7V lithium-polymer battery. The device offers 8GB internal storage and up to 32GB expandable memory card. Rs 17,999 BBM FOR WINDOWS PHONE DEVICES After releasing BBM for free for Android and iOS smartphones, BlackBerry has now launched it for Windows Phones too. The messaging app is available for free and can be downloaded on devices running Windows Phone 8 and higher from Windows Marketplace.The app offers features like BBM Chats, BBM Groups, Find Friends, BBM Feeds and Pin to Start.

KARBONN A1+ SUPER AND A5 TURBO Karbonn Mobile has launched two new low-cost smartphones - A1+ Super and A5 Turbo. The former is priced at Rs 3,490 and the latter at Rs 3,290. Both smartphones run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The A1+ Super is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual core processor while the A5 Turbo has a 1 GHz processor. Both devices have dual SIM support and an 8.9 cm HVGA capacitive touch screen. The A1+ Super also has a 3 megapixel camera with flash, a front digital camera, and 32GB of external storage. The A5 Turbo offers 3G-network support, a 3 megapixel camera, and 32 GB of expandable memory.


VAVIA'S SOCIAL NETWORKING APP Vavia Technologies has announced the launch of a new app, Confess, which the company claims to be India's first anonymous social networking application. It is an anonymous social network that allows users to share secret confessions with their connections and groups. Users can also read and comment on other people's confessions, message and communicate with other users, search for topic specific to confessions and vote on others' confessions. The application is currently available only for Android users.

SAMSUNG GALAXY STAR 2 Expanding its lineup of affordable smartphones, Samsung has launched three new handsets. The most affordable of the lot is the Samsung Galaxy Star 2. Running on the Android KitKat operating system, it comes with Samsung's proprietary Touch Wiz user interface. The device features a 3.5-inch display and has a 2MP camera. This is a 2G smartphone with WiFi access. It has a 1GHz single core processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It is priced at Rs 5,100.
