Software Developer Code Rebel, LLC Obtains Another Judgment Against Aqua Connect In Second Federal Lawsuit

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 27, 2014 Remote desktop software developer Code Rebel, LLC today announced that a Federal Court in Los Angeles has entered a monetary judgment in Code Rebel's favor and against Aqua Connect, Inc., a rival software developer. The monetary judgment relates to a federal lawsuit filed by Code Rebel against Aqua Connect in 2013 in the United States District Court for the Central District of California alleging, among other things, false and misleading comments made by Aqua Connect as part of a pattern of trade libel, business interference and unfair business practices designed to denigrate the quality and development of Code Rebel's products.

Founded in 2006, Code Rebel is an innovative software development company with two Mac remote desktop access software applications: iRAPP and iRAPP Terminal Server. The iRAPP application – "Interactive Remote Application" – is a remote access software suite that allows users to work seamlessly and simultaneously on both PC and Mac.

The recent Judgment is the second one obtained in favor of Code Rebel and against Aqua Connect within the past sixty days. In late August of this year, Code Rebel and its officers were also awarded a judgment in their favor in a separate lawsuit filed by Aqua Connect in 2011 against Code Rebel, its Chief Executive Officer, Arben Kryeziu, and Chief Technology Officer, Volodymyr Bykov. In that 2011 suit, Aqua Connect alleged that Code Rebel had, among other things, misappropriated Aqua Connect's trade secrets and breached a click-through end user license agreement by reverse engineering a software program allegedly developed by Aqua Connect, in order to create Code Rebel's iRAPP and iRAPP TS software programs. After extended litigation, the same Federal Court entered judgment in favor of Code Rebel and its officers on all of the claims alleged by Aqua Connect in the 2011 lawsuit and expressly stated that: "Aqua Connect has failed to establish any act of reverse engineering by Code Rebel or any other illegal act that would support any of its claims." Code Rebel, LLC was represented by Andres Quintana, Esq. and John Houkom, Esq. of the Quintana Law Group, APC in both matters.
