Freescale Semiconductor posts 3Q profit(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Freescale Semiconductor Ltd. (FSL) on Thursday reported earnings of $125 million in its third quarter. On a per-share basis, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had net income of 40 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 49 cents per share. The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 44 cents per share. The computer chip maker posted revenue of $1.21 billion in the period, meeting Street forecasts. For the current quarter ending in December, Freescale Semiconductor said it expects revenue in the range of $1.08 billion to $1.13 billion. Freescale Semiconductor shares have increased 13 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $18.06, an increase of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
