BRIEF: Local honored with state award [The Times-Tribune, Scranton, Pa.]


(Times-Tribune (Scranton, PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 23--WILKES-BARRE -- A Luzerne County native was among nine women across the state that Gov. Tom Corbett and his wife Susan honored as this year's "Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania." Lisa Caputo, executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer at Travelers Companies Inc., was among the women recently honored with medals for their achievements at an event in Harrisburg.



Caputo, a Wilkes-Barre native, has served in executive leadership positions for companies such as Citigroup, where she was founder, chairwoman and chief executive officer of the company's Women & Co. She also held senior positions at Disney Publishing Worldwide and CBS Corp.

She worked at the White House as deputy assistant to President Bill Clinton and press secretary to Hillary Rodham Clinton. She continued to serve as an advisor to Mrs. Clinton in her candidacies for the Senate and for president as well as during her tenures as senator and secretary of state.
