LG Electronics Champions Energy Efficient Technologies At 2014 Greenbuild Expo [Global Data Point]

(Global Data Point Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Selected as the "Official ENERGY STAR® TV Provider for Greenbuild 2014," LG also is the leading technology provider for the "GreenZone Environment Education Classroom" exhibit. Commissioned by SGC Horizon, in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Engagement and Development and USGBC-Louisiana, the exhibit is a modular education facility and community center featured at the two-day expo.

Following the show, the structure will be installed in New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward near Make It Right Foundation homes, serving elementary, middle and high school students in the NOLA Recovery School District with education programs on water quality, storm water management and the environment. The facility will be made available for use by community groups in the Ninth Ward.

Energy efficient LG products designed with the environment in mind are integrated throughout the structure. In addition to ENERGY STAR certified electronics, the exhibit highlights LG's air conditioning systems that deliver supreme energy efficiencies without sacrificing the stylish look coveted by today's design-savvy architects, engineers and consumers.

"At LG, environmental sustainability is a core business principle. We understand the value of manufacturing environmentally-sound products that set new standards of energy efficiency," said Kevin McNamara, vice president, LG Electronics USA Commercial Air Conditioning. "Greenbuild is the epicenter of the green building movement, and LG is proud of its role here, both as Gold Sponsor and especially as a leading proponent of innovative, energy-efficient technologies that help create more sustainable commercial and residential facilities." The innovative, sustainably-constructed GreenZone community center includes a variety of energy efficient LG products, including air conditioning systems, consumer electronics and appliances: -Air Conditioning Systems - For enhanced energy efficiency in the GreenZone Community Center, LG's "Multi V Mini" air system (model ARUN036GS2) offers the benefits of LG's flagship Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology to cool or heat an entire building or just a single area or room. LG's Energy Recovery Ventilator (ARVU053ZEA2) is designed to provide tempered outside air and operates at low sound levels as it recovers energy from exhaust air. LG's innovative AC Smart Premium Central Controller (model PQCSW421E0A) will communicate with the LG indoor units in the GreenZone facility, offering advanced features in addition to basic unit control and monitoring. With the ability to adjust LG air conditioners, LG ventilation units and third-party devices, the AC Smart Premium offers users the convenience of managing all devices from a central location.

-Consumer Electronics - A centerpiece of the GreenZone Community Center is LG's 55-inch class ENERGY STAR® certified IPS Direct LED Full HD Capable Monitor (55WL30MS-D). Consuming approximately 40 percent less energy than regular models, this commercial-grade 55-inch monitor is optimized for education applications even in the most challenging lighting environments. Also in the classroom are a number of LG Chromebase all-in-one desktop computers, powered by the Google Chrome operating system. The LG Chromebase (22CV241) uses the speed, simplicity and security of the Chrome OS to power one device with an innovative space-saving design. LG Chromebase features a brilliant 21.5-inch widescreen Full HD IPS display along with 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage.

-Home Appliances - To help make cooking easy and efficient for families using the community center, LG's energy-efficient Over-the-Range microwave (LMVM2033) incorporates exceptional convenience features. Its sleek, intuitive SmoothTouch™ controls located on the front of the stylish glass door ensure the microwave looks just as good as the food you're heating up. Its EasyClean™ interior resists stains and buildup, so cleaning doesn't become a chore. Simply wipe away dirt and grime with a damp cloth, eliminating the need for harsh chemicals.

As Greenbuild's exclusive ENERGY STAR TV partner, LG is providing dozens of 60- and 55-inch class ENERGY STAR Most Efficient and 32-inch class ENERGY STAR certified LED HDTVs for use in high-profile locations throughout the show, from the Interactive Media Lounge to key locations for the U.S. Green Building Council events.

Also of interest to Greenbuild attendees is LG's role in the UL Environment booth, where LG ENERGY STAR Most Efficient displays highlight UL's green certification programs. In addition, LG's new 55-inch class ENERGY STAR certified OLED TV, the first TV to earn UL Environment's GREENGUARD™ certification, will be on display.
