Aerospike Recognized as a Visionary in Gartner 2014 Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems

Aerospike Inc., the world's fastest database, today announced that it has been recognized by Gartner (News - Alert), Inc. in the "Visionaries" quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems (ODBMS)¹, which was published on October 16, 2014. This marks the second time Aerospike has been recognized as a Visionary in the report, which evaluates ODBMS based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. The report evaluated Aerospike's operational functionality, performance and marketing and hardware ecosystem.

"The operational DBMS market continues to grow, with innovative products and features being delivered by both new and traditional vendors," The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems² report notes. It also states, "With the introduction of NoSQL and Hadoop in support of unstructured data in transactions and the viable use of in-memory computing, many organizations are beginning to use these new DBMS engines for specific use cases, such as global scalability of Web applications." The Gartner report further notes, "Due to its inherent speed, in-memory computing is becoming necessary for the processing of interaction and observation data integrated into transactions."
