(Herald, The (Scotland) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Cuba Offline Radio 4, 11.30am Calling Cuba "one of the last pre-internet cultures on the planet", as the blurb for this programme does, makes it sound like something out of the stone age, a sort of anthropological heaven ready to be prodded and poked and bent out of shape. In fact, Cubans can get online, though only in small numbers and it's only the elite who have access to any sort of broadband. Developments such as WiFi are still beyond the vast majority of people. In this programme, presenter Nick Baker travels to the country to meet journalist Arnaldo Hernandez Diaz, who acts as his guide to Cuba's few state- run internet cafes.
