Seasoned Industry Analyst Joins IDC Government Insights to Spearhead Digital Government Research


FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

IDC Government Insights today announced 20-year industry veteran, Alan E. Webber, joins the team as Research Director. In this role, Mr. Webber's research will focus on digital government including technology innovation, digital strategy, eGovernment, citizen engagement, social media employment, open government, data transparency, impact of technology on the future of government, private-public business models, performance management, Internet of things, digital risk and security, and privacy. A seasoned industry veteran, Mr. Webber boasts more than 20 years of analyst, management and technology experience working with government vendors and government clients. Most recently, he was a Partner and Principle Analyst at the Altimeter Group covering digital risk. Previously, he was a Principal Analyst covering digital engagement and public sector at Forrester Research (News - Alert) and has led various strategic planning, performance management, eGovernment, and Web initiatives for US Government agencies.

Mr. Webber's primary research interests are to assist clients in understanding the intersection of society/culture, technology, and government. His research covers the market forces and the transformative technologies that are critical to the evoluion and success of national government agencies and programs.
