Tijuana Flats Hires Veteran for on the Job Training(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 20, 2014 Tijuana Flats announces the newest member of the Chester's Working Warriors Fellowship (CWWF), a program named after the late Chester Wheeler, former Chief Financial Officer of Tijuana Flats and father of founder Brian Wheeler. Chester served in the Air National Guard and dedicated most of his professional career to the military aeronautical engineering industry. Eddie Brim, a Central Florida Veteran, will participate in the six week program focusing primarily on IT support for the Tijuana Flats restaurants, but will also spend time in all departments learning about the overall business. The CWWF was created in 2012 as a partnership between Tijuana Flats and the Orlando Veterans Center. The CWWF program is a six week paid "on the job training" program for military veterans. The program's mission is to educate and teach basic business skills to promising military veterans in order to prepare them for an entry-level professional position. In addition, the program also provides resume-building workshops and interview training to give veterans the skills and confidence to present themselves as working professionals. Upon completion of the program, Tijuana Flats will either offer a full time position to the candidate or assist them in finding a permanent position. "We have and always will be passionate supporters of our armed forces and their family members. This is just another way of continuing our mission, all while bringing brave veterans onto our team and helping them to achieve their goals," said Chief Executive Office, Brad Kaemmer. In October of 2009, Brim enlisted in the United States Army. His training as Combat Engineer began in Leonardwood, Missouri. The beginning of 2010, Brim was stationed in Ft. Knox and was later promoted to Specialist in 2011. It was during his Ft. Knox stay that he took interest in IT while working in S2 Intel, handling security clearances. Late 2011, Brim was transferred to Camp Casey in Korea and appointed team leader spearheading engineer demolitions, ballistic breaching and construction of defense walls. After the last transfer to Ft. Drum in 2012, Brim encountered physical issues, forcing his medical discharge in 2014. Brim, his wife and their four children, moved to Florida to be closer to family in early 2014 where he is currently enrolled at ITT Tech as a Network Systems Administrator. "The army has changed my work ethic, instilled discipline and allowed me to develop leadership characteristics that will guide me in both my personal and professional life. I am happy to have found such a rewarding program that acknowledges these traits and will help me pursue my dreams," said Brim. Since 2012, three veterans have completed the program including Aaron Waldron, Jennifer Reynolds, Jenna Weinman. All have worked for Tijuana Flats and have advanced in their respective careers.
