(Snips Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Marc Heffner has been appointed as the new director of marketing at Lochinvar LLC.

In this position, Heffner will be responsible for marketing strategy and management for all Lochinvar products and will also oversee the company's marketing and product management personnel.

Heffner brings over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing to his new role.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers presented Vallort with the award at the society's 2014 winter meeting in New York.

With over 20 years of engineering experience and achievements in modeling, commissioning, controls and mission critical facilities, Vallort joins the current 260 members in ASHRAE's College of Fellows.


The Dwyer Group Inc. has announced the promotions of several executive team members.

Dina Dwyer-Owens, chairwoman and CEO, has been appointed to executive chairwoman of Dwyer Group. Her duties will include promoting the code of values and culture of the company, seeking out acquisition opportunities for complimentary service brands and speaking on local, national and international stages on behalf of the company.

President and Chief Operating Officer Mike Bidwell has been promoted to president and CEO of Dwyer Group. Bidwell will continue to oversee management and organizational support for the parent company and the operating companies belonging to Dwyer Group. He will also work with the franchise brand presidents and the board of directors to create growth and success opportunities for the brand.

Mary Kennedy Thompson has been appointed executive vice president of Dwyer Group and also will retain her current title as president of Mr. Rooter, a company subsidiary. In her new role, Thompson will provide support to the CEO in the daily activities and operations of the company and its brands.

"Mary Kennedy Thompson is a gifted and insightful leader on so many levels and will be a tremendous asset in providing structural and organizational leadership as the Dwyer Group footprint expands," Bidwell said. "The trajectory of the Dwyer Group is focused on strong growth for years to come." Debbie Wright-Hood, chief administrative officer for Dwyer Group, has also been appointed to the board of directors. Daughter of the Dwyer Group's late founder, Wright-Hood has grown up in the business, and now, as a board member, she will become part of the company's governing body.

Katz, managing partner of TZP Group LLC, a private-equity company and Dwyer Group's majority owner. Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division has appointed John Gabilondo as vice president of operations.

Having served 19 years with the division, Gabilondo has executed strategic initiatives for the division's infrastructure, operations and logistics, and supply chain. He has also played a central role in improving the management systems, accountability programs and financial growth across all facets of the organization, the company says.

"We're pleased to have someone with John's dedication and expertise leading our operations team," said Allan Dziwoki, senior vice president of sales, marketing and operations at Mitsubishi Electric. "John's leadership, experience and proven track record within our organization will serve to benefit us as we continue to strengthen and expand our efforts." The division has also appointed John Stowell to the senior director of marketing position.

In this role, Stowell leads the branding and market positioning of HVAC products and solutions within targeted market segments, in addition to developing the division's strategic market performance goals. He also oversees all customer-facing marketing activities and commercial and residential programs and promotions.

"We are thrilled to welcome John to the Mitsubishi Electric team," said Mark Kuntz, vice president of marketing and engineered solutions. "His widespread knowledge in marketing and branding combined with his strong leadership background will serve us well as we continue to extend our efforts here in North America." Jeff Whitelaw, a 26-year veteran of Mitsubishi Electric US Heating & Cooling Division, has been appointed to senior director of engineering, management and testing.

Whitelaw's new role consists of managing all aspects of the division's engineering projects and ensuring that all engineering initiatives meet and/or exceed the division's established objectives.

"We're thrilled to have someone with Jeff's commitment, ability and background at the forefront of our engineering operations," Dziwoki said. "Jeff's leadership, dedication and expertise from his tenure within the Mitsubishi Electric US family of companies will contribute greatly to our division's success." After having served as vice president for 18 years, Don Schmidt has announced his retirement from Malco Products.

During his 42 years with the company, Schmidt has held positions including national sales manager, director of sales and promotion and vice president of sales and marketing. He also has spearheaded Malco global initiatives and efforts to diversify the company's markets and product line.

Schmidt will continue to serve on the Malco board of directors in his transition to retirement.

Rick Rosine has been promoted to Reliable Controls' vice president of sales and marketing in the Americas.

Rosine will be responsible for helping the company's team of regional sales managers grow their respective regions and develop the company's distribution in Central and South America.

HVAC Excellence has given Harry Dabner the title of certified master HVAC educator.

In order to earn this title, an instructor must successfully pass six exams with a score of 80 percent or higher, as well as the Capstone exam, which covers technical education methodologies, principles and practices.

Armistead Mechanical Inc. has hired Robert J. Breyta Jr. as its newest senior project manager.

Breyta, who began his career at Armstead Mechanical in 1981 as a junior project manager, now returns to the company with almost 25 years of industry experience.

SigmaTek Systems LLC has promoted Mike Galetti to senior director of global corporate sales and Bill Huffman to director of corporate accounts.

Company officials say the two will work together to grow and manage the company's global corporate accounts program.

Environmental Systems Design Inc. has promoted four of its employees to vice president: James Dipping, Josh Gepner, Brett Griffin, Jason McCargo and Kyle Woodward.

Dipping, who has been with ESD since 2009, currently serves as the coordinator of all plumbing-related projects throughout the company. He has also published articles and conducted webinar presentations through the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.

Gepner, who has also been with the company since 2009, has a background in designing electrical systems for commercial, residential and industrial buildings and also specialized in commissioning projects for mission-critical facilities.

Since joining ESD in 2006, Griffin has served as the mechanical engineer and project manager in the company's mission critical facilities group. He was also recognized by an engineering magazine in 2013 as one of the industry's "top 40 under 40." McCargo has also been working for the company since 2006. Before his promotion, McCargo served as a project manager and adviser, working closely with contractors to develop solutions for clients.

Woodward joined ESD last year as the director of human resources, where her responsibilities consisted of managing the company's talent acquisition; career development and advancement; and employee benefits program.

Emerson Climate Technologies Inc. has promoted Andre Patenaude to director of carbon dioxide business development.

In his new role, Patenaude will be responsible for developing Emerson's industry stewardship strategy, marketing initiatives, communication activities, channel training and educational programs, as they relate to using carbon dioxide in refrigeration systems.

Patenaude has 30 years of marketing, sales and technical service experience working directly with contractors, wholesalers and original equipment manufacturers.

HVAC Excellence has given Gerrard Wiggan the title of certified master HVAC educator.

Daniel Benischeck has joined Gustave A. Larson Co. as the new vice president of operations.

He has previously worked for Briggs & Stratton Corp., General Electric and TD Ameritrade.

Jean-Lou Paquet has joined Distech Controls as the new vice president of corporate development.

Additional company appointments include: David Gill, vice president of Asia; Carl Barnard, director of sales of the Americas; Jim French, vice president of product development and technical support; Stevie Lupien, global research and development, and projects director; and Ryan Sen, director of sales support.
