EL SEGUNDO, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

DIRECTV Latin America, one of the leading providers of digital television entertainment services throughout the region, announced today the successful launch of a new satellite payload, DLA-1, that will enhance the entertainment experience for millions of customers served by DIRECTV's PanAmericana division beginning in the first half of 2015.

"The launch of this new satellite will significantly enhance the entertainment experience that has transformed DIRECTV into the preferred pay TV service in the region," said Jacopo Bracco, President of DIRECTV PanAmericana. "DLA-1 will also enable us to implement a long-term development plan to best meet the interests and needs of current and future customers in the region in the coming years."

DIRECTV PanAmericana will continue to offer the best customer experience, including exceptional service, even more quality content, exclusive events, and the ability for customers to watch what they want on any scree or digital device such as TVs, computers, tablets or smartphones.

The strength that the brand has established worldwide with its distinctive products and wide range of service offerings has propelled DIRECTV to be the largest pay TV provider with over 39 million customers in the Americas.
