Minister Clement's address will mark the official opening of the GTEC conference and keynote programming on Tuesday, October 28 at 8:40 am. His presentation, Better Government Through Collaboration and Citizen Engagement, will focus on the Government's commitment to Open Data and the new Open Government 2.0 initiative. He will also discuss the government's approach to innovative technologies such as cloud computing, which will transform the way the federal government communicates, collaborates and shares information with Canadians. Minister Clement will provide insight into his efforts to harness new technologies to improve service delivery to Canadian taxpayers in a more efficient manner.

Mr. Clement has been the Member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka since 2006 and has served the public for over three decades in roles such as Minister of Health and Minister of Industry. In May 2011, Mr. Clement was asked to serve as President of the Treasury Board by the Prime Minister. He has since worked to implement new ways to deliver services to tax payers effectively. He draws on his private sector career, utilizing his experience as a small business owner, entrepreneur, lawyer and business board member.
