MEDIATEK TO TAKE ON QUALCOMM WITH 4G LTE CHIP(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MediaTek, semiconductor manufacturer of Taiwan, has launched its 4G LTE chipset `MT6595' for premium range of handsets to compete with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset family. It is planning an investment of $200 million in India. The company which has launched its facility in Bangalore for research and development is focusing on delivering a range of 4G LTE platform in India, starting with MT6595. Its aim is to sell about 300 million chips in 2014. |
