Alia Bhatt a Virus? [News] [Times of India]

(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Actress Alia Bhatt is the most sensational celebrity in India cyberspace followed by Aamir, Salman and Shahrukh Khan reveals a survey conducted by McAfee. The survey says cyber crooks are capitalizing on her popularity using her name as virus to lure netizens to malicious websites. Giving us the details and confirmation on survey, Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering- Consumer, Business Group, McAfee India Centre, says "Celebrities are treated like demi-gods. Fans want to know everything about their favorite stars, and they want to download their latest pictures, or music videos and wallpapers. So it's not only information but also pictures and videos that attract fans to search for their favorite star on the internet. From the findings of McAfee's Most Sensational Celebrity in India survey, we realised that cyber criminals look for 2 things - the most popular and loved celebrity and the most trending celebrity. And Alia Bhatt has been trending recently because of her new movies, internet memes, selfies, spoof videos, etc." He further added, "Our study starts with McAfee identifying the popular stars. This year we identified 10 such celebrities in India who have been in news. McAfee scanned the pages across search engines with the name of the celebrity and the most widely used keywords ( like videos, wallpapers, free downloads, selfies, internet memes). Based on the number of risky sites each celeb had, McAfee calculated the risk quotient. Alia topped the list with 81 infected search results, followed by Aamir Khan (78 malicious sites), Priyanka Chopra (69), Shahrukh and Salman Khan (64 each), Katrina Kaif (63), Shradha Kapoor (62), Ranveer Singh (61), Deepika Padukone (60), Hrithik Roshan (59) and Sonakshi Sinha with 58 malware-ridden websites to her name."
