Atlas Medical to Discuss the Value of Diagnostics Throughout the Continuum of Care at G2 Lab Institute 2014 and at Lab Quality Confab 2014

CALABASAS, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Atlas Medical today announced plans to present how healthcare institutions can leverage their value throughout the continuum of care at two upcoming industry events. First, as a returning sponsor, ATLAS will exhibit at G2 (News - Alert) Lab Institute 2014, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill, October 15-17, 2014. Following on October 21, the Company will speak at Lab Quality Confab, to be held at the Astor Crown Plaza, New Orleans.

Many healthcare organizations are looking for ways to deliver more value to the physicians and patients they serve while dealing with the challenges of changing reimbursements, increased patient responsibility, and other business pressures. At G2 Lab Institute and Lab Quality Confab, ATLAS will educate attendees on ways they can use patient-centric solutions to extend the value of diagnostics throughout the continuum of care and deliver more value as a result.

Bob Gregory, ATLAS Chief Business Officer, will present a Master Session at Lab Quality Confab entitled, "Using Next-Generation, Patient-Centric IT Tools to Enhance Workflow, Boost Productivity, and Increase Cash Collections." The session will help prepare labs to survive (and thrive) as they transition from fee for service to fee for value, address the challenges of shared risk and outcome based reimbursement, and adapt to the emergence of patients as healthcare consumers. He will demonstrate how labs can be valuable contributors to their community by leveraging the value of diagnostics to deliver information and actionable intelligence using a patient-centric approach to data management.

Rhonda Merrill, Director of IT Application Quality Assurance, Atherotech Diagnostics Lab, will co-present with Mr. Gregory at Lab Quality Confab. During the session, she will discuss first-hand the pain points labs are facing, and attest to the benefits of implementing IT tools, such as an EMPI (Enterprise Master Patient Index), to achieve patient-centric benefits including optimized testing, reduced denials, and delivery of longitudinal results.

"Trends reshaping clinical care and the laborator testing market are almost completely dependent on being patient-centric," explains Robert Atlas, ATLAS President and CEO. He continues, "These include efforts to encourage appropriate test utilization, deliver more actionable information to clinicians, and contribute to the overall improvement of patient outcomes. Almost every initiative that laboratories need to do to support the continuum of care relies on the shared patient record."

The Company's patient-centric solutions, including HealthCentric® EMPI and its Patient Centric Repository, as well as the recently launched ATLAS Patient Portal, support patient-centric workflow and data flow, enabling richer reporting, better billing, sophisticated EMR integration, and multi-lab network interoperability.
