MVNO sells SIM-only package through Dutch post offices [TeleGeography CommsUpdate]

(TeleGeography CommsUpdate Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PostNL, the largest postal service in the Netherlands, now sells SIM-only packages to consumers via a deal struck with mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Robin Mobile. As of 6 October 2014 more than 2,000 PostNL post offices have an exclusive arrangement with the mobile service provider to sell its SIM cards, which were previously only available online, a press release disclosed. Robin Mobile launched services in June 2013 and focuses on SIM-only mobile subscriptions starting from EUR29.95 (USD37.80) a month, featuring unlimited calls, texts and mobile data, with no contract. TeleGeography notes that PostNL previously launched its own pre-paid MVNO in March 2012 over KPN's network, but shut down the service in October 2013 due to disappointing user take-up, whilst Robin Mobile currently uses KPN as its mobile infrastructure provider.
