Honeywell Demonstrates Automated Demand Response Benefits for Utility, Commercial, and Industrial Customers

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 -- The Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Delivery & Energy Reliability issued the following news: Honeywell's Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIG) project demonstrates utility-scale performance of a hardware/software platform for automated demand response (ADR). This project stands apart from the other SGIG projects in that it focused both on the development of an ADR hardware/software platform to facilitate demand response and on recruiting and educating ADR customers to participate in energy saving programs sponsored by utilities. The project uniquely targeted larger commercial, industrial, and institutional customers (with an average demand of 200 kilowatts or more) rather than residential customers. The case study on this project is now available for downloading (http://energy.gov/oe/downloads/recovery-act-funds-work-smart-grid-investment-grant-profiles).
