Brazil : TIM, OI to sell POSITIVO smartphones [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Brazilian mobile telephone and IT equipment manufacturer Positivo has finalized a collaboration with operators Oi and TIM to market its line of mobile phones, the S480, S440 and S380. The devices are manufactured in the firm own plant in Curitiba, which begin in July with initial potential of 80,000 smartphones per month. The other two mobile operators (Vivo and Claro) should confirm discussions in order for sales to start in 2015.



The S480 is the best part of the firm portfolio, and features a 4.5-inch IPS screen, with Mediatek quad-core processor, Android KitKat 4.4 OS, 1 GB RAM and DualSim. The operators will sell it for BRL 549, but only in black. On the retail market, the device sells for BRL 599 with covers in silver and burgundy.

The S440 is a smartphone with a 4-inch screen, has a dual-core processor with 512 MB of RAM and Android KitKat and costs BRL 429. The S450 with 4-inch screen and alike configuration goes for BRL 449 on the retail market with a memory card of 8 GB and BRL 399 with operators. The S380 is the entry level model with a 3.5-inch screen and Android KitKat, retailing for BRL 299.
