Infor launches Infor Xi business suite [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Business application software firm Infor today launched Infor XI, the latest edition of its application suite that includes ERP and CRM modules.

The company unveiled the product at its annual Infor Day Dubai at the Westin Mina Seyahi hotel in Media City.

Building on its current Infor 10x platform, version XI is focused on "achieving the company's vision for cloud applications that address specific industry needs" and features machine-learning and big data analytics.

"Modern technologies like the cloud, big data, machine-learning, and mobility have created new and exciting engines for innovation and increased the pressure on companies to stay current and competitive," said Lee Miles, regional director, Middle East, Infor.

"Infor has spent more than $1bn in research and development that will culminate in Infor XI - powered applications that will help our customers stay ahead of the game in today's rapidly evolving global business climate." Infor highlighted the three "major pillars" of the Infor XI platform as "enhanced cloud", "mobile-first design" and "advanced science". For the cloud Infor will use Amazon Web Services' infrastructure; Red Hat's Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware; and EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus database to deliver multi-tenancy and support for open source systems. In pursuit of mobility, Infor said standard APIs will be available for version XI modules. And analytics comes via Infor Dynamic Science Labs, which the company claims allows applications to anticipate problems and recommend solutions.

Infor is currently delivering elements of Infor XI and will roll the platform out across its product suites, including Infor CloudSuite industry suites, enterprise resource planning (ERP), enterprise asset management (EAM), human capital management (HCM), customer relationship management (CRM), and supply-chain management (SCM).
