American Business Council elects body for 2014-15


(Daily Regional Times (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Managing Director of Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited, Arshad Saeed Husain has been elected as President, American Business Council of Pakistan (ABC) for the year 201415.

The ABC's Executive Committee also elected Managing Director and Citi Country Officer, Citibank, Nadeem Lodhi as Senior Vice President and Executive Director and General Manager of J.P. Morgan Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Amin Mohammad Khowaja as Vice President, said a press release here on Tuesday. Newly elected Office Bearers and Executive Committee members will take office for a 12 month term commencing from October 01. The other members of the Executive Committee are Director, ColgatePalmolive (Pakistan) Ltd., Tasleemuddin Ahmed Batlay, Chairman and Managing Director, CaptainPQ Chemical Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., Farrokh K. Captain, Managing Director and Country Head, TRG (Pvt.) Ltd., Nadeem Elahi, Managing Director, Eli Lilly Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Kazim Hasnain, Managing Director, 3M Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Adnan A. Khan, Chief Executive Officer, EMC Information Systems Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Osman Asghar Khan, President and CEO, Siza Foods (Pvt.) Ltd. (McDonald's) Amin Mohammed Lakhani, Managing Director and CEO, Muller and Phipps Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. Kamran Nishat.



The American Business Council of Pakistan (ABC) is a trade body of American businesses in Pakistan to protect and promote the interests of United States's investors in Pakistan while encouraging and stimulating new investments. The council also aims to introduce and inculcate the best practices and strives to establish a level playing field in the country for promoting commerce between the USA and Pakistan.

ABC is affiliated with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and is also a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC), Washington D.C., and AsiaPacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC). ABC also has a close working relationship with the U.S.Pakistan Business Council, Washington which is a component of the USCC.
