TE Connectivity and KGP Logistics Bring Fiber Expertise, Sponsorship, to OSP Expo 2014

MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, and distribution partner KGP Logistics (News - Alert), showcase their fiber expertise through speaking engagements, product exhibitions and keynote sponsorship at OSP Expo, being held September 30 to October 2 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland.

In the OSP Expo seminar titled, "DSL to Fiber: Upgrade Considerations for Lower Equipment and Construction Costs," Todd Loeffelholz, TE's senior manager of strategy and business development, addresses the challenges that arise when service providers need to migrate their digital subscriber line (DSL) network to fiber-to-the-home architectures.

"Due to the increase in the number of devices and users in today's households, DSL networks are being pushed to their capacity limit," says Trevor Smith, vice president of global strategy and business development for TE Broadband Network Solutions (News - Alert). "As DSL operators continue to move the node closer to the home to meet these bandwidth challenges, it makes sense from an operational and cost perspective to migrate to fiber all the way to the home. In Loeffelholz's presentation, he examines the challenges and best methodologies for migrating DSL to fiber in the fastest, most economical way possible." The TE seminar is scheduled for October 2, 8-9 a.m. and is free to all registered OSP Expo attendees.

For a demonstration of the industry's latest fiber innovations, attendees can visit TE at booth #533 and KGP at booth #833 during the OSP Expo exhibit hours. TE and KGP will also have a presence at the closing keynote address of OSP Expo. Eugene Agee, vice president of procurement and real estate for Sprint (News - Alert), will deliver the final keynote a OSP Expo, which is sponsored by TE and KGP.

"The joint keynote sponsorship between KGP and TE is reflective of our long-standing partnership commitment to lead the industry with opportunities for our customers to expand their knowledge of market information and trends," said Marc Bolick, vice president of product and marketing for KGP Companies. "OSP Expo continues the tradition of being one of the leading events in the North American telecommunications market, and it is a privilege to join TE in sponsoring this event."
