The Samsung Galaxy Note 4's screen gap is a feature [Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia)]

(Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) With Apple’s Bendgate pretty much a closed issue, it would appear that it now Samsung’s turn to have its own ‘-gate’ crisis, with the Galaxy Note 4. Reports have popped out of South Korean press with regards to an unusual hardware issue affecting some Note 4 units which, referring to a gap between the screen and the metal trim large enough to insert a business card.

But before #gapgate is able to materialise, Samsung has addressed the issue in the European Galaxy Note 4, which arrived on the company’s support site in the past day. Under ‘troubleshooting’ of the documents that came with the device, it reads: A small gap appears around the outside of the device case    • This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur.

   • Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.

So it would seem that Samsung is stating that this a characteristic of the device itself, and not a manufacturing fault. That said, the second point will still make you think twice as a widening gap between screen and chassis makes you wonder about its build quality. Regardless, we will see if this is as bad it sounds once the Galaxy Note 4 hits our region.
