Dionne Lomax, a Member in the Antitrust Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., and Stephanie D. Willis, an attorney in the firm's Health Law Practice, have been selected to serve as Co-Chairs of the Health Law Forum in the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia (WBA) for the 2014-2015 program year.

The WBA's Health Law Forum provides a network for health law practitioners or those interested in practicing in the field to share information about employment oportunities and to participate in educational and community service programs. Along with fellow Co-Chair Amanda Brino, a senior manager at Accenture (News - Alert), Ms. Lomax and Ms. Willis will focus on planning networking and educational events related to health law topics throughout the year.



Founded in 1917, the WBA isĀ one of the oldest and largest voluntary bar associations in metropolitan Washington, DC. The WBA's mission is to continue "maintaining the honor and integrity of the profession; promoting the administration of justice; advancing and protecting the interests of women lawyers; promoting their mutual improvement; and encouraging a spirit of friendship among [its] members."

Ms. Lomax's antitrust and trade regulation practice includes counseling and representation in connection with merger and nonmerger related activities, litigation, and matters before the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC (News - Alert)). She has been involved in antitrust matters spanning a broad range of industries, but has particularly deep experience in the health care and energy sectors. In the health care industry, Ms. Lomax has represented large health systems, major medical associations, large multi-specialty physician groups, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial arrangements. She has counseled various clients in responding to antitrust investigations conducted by the DOJ, FTC, and various state antitrust agencies. Ms. Lomax previously served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division Health Care Task Force Section.


Ms. Willis primarily works with health care clients seeking to comply with state and federal laws and regulations in their daily business dealings. She provides regulatory advice to clients on issues such as HIPAA Privacy Rule compliance, telemedicine requirements, and health care fraud and abuse compliance. In her practice, Ms. Willis has assisted hospitals, laboratories, and academic institutions in drafting compliance plans, structuring joint ventures, and investigating security breaches. She also drafts and updates business associate and subcontractor agreements to meet HIPAA Omnibus Rule and state privacy law compliance standards.
