Interlude Names Silicon Valley Veteran Jim Spare as President and Chief Operating Officer


NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

Interlude, a digital media company that designs, develops and markets interactive video technology, today announced the appointment of Jim Spare to president and chief operating officer, a new position within the company. In his position, Spare will oversee all business and operational functions at Interlude, focusing on expanding Interlude's customer base and growing the profile of interactive video within the digital media industry.

Drawing upon his 20 years of experience, Spare will drive and extend Interlude's market leadership in interactive video. He will be responsible for growing Interlude's business and work with CEO Yoni Bloch and the rest of the management team on managing the rapid growth of the company. Spare will also spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes, including sales and marketing, finance, product development and R&D functions.

Spare has spent his career leading the growth of disruptive technology businesses in the media and entertainment ecosystem. Most recently, he led a venture-financed 3D sensing company, Canesta, as CEO from 2006 through its successful sale to Microsoft (News - Alert) in 2010 for Xbox One Kinect. Spare has also driven strategy for small and large companies spanning a variety of technologies, including software, mobile, broadband telecommunications, semiconductors and consumer Internet services. Earlier in his career, he honed his skills in business development and product management roles in large companies such as Microsoft and General Instrument/Motorola (News - Alert).
