EMCO Announces Development of a New Version of its Remote Installer Software

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 EMCO Software, a leading provider of software distribution solutions for Windows networks, has announced the development of EMCO Remote Installer 5, a new version of its popular software distribution application for Windows. The new version of the application will include the features designed based on the feedback from thousands of the application users. The new features will help network administrators to easily deploy installations to remote computers within local networks.

EMCO Remote Installer is deployment software for Windows networks that allows distributing Windows installations across a LAN/WAN. It supports installation and uninstallation of MSI packages and patches and EXE installations that support silent deployment. All operations can be performed on demand or as scheduled. The new version of the application will allow network administrators to create a repository of the deployment packages, so that they can be quickly deployed across a network when required. Every package will include a reference to the installation file and preconfigured deployment options. If an installation should be deployed with silent deployment parameters, the installation options can be configured only once when the installation is added to the repository. The preconfigured installation from the repository can be deployed in a few mouse clicks, since the network administrators don't need to specify the deployment options every time the package should be deployed.

Another important feature to become available in the new version is the availability of dynamic groups of network PCs. Depending on the deployment needs, network administrators can create a number of dynamic groups to include PCs based on certain criteria. For example, network administrators can create a group of PCs that are located in the same building or that belong to a particular department. Such groups can be created based on criteria defined in Active Directory, and, what's important, those groups can be dynamic, i.e. if a new PC that satisfies the defined criteria is added to or removed from Active Directory, the dynamic group is updated automatically. It allows network administrators to create such groups once to later specify them as deployment targets. In that case, the deployment operation will be executed on all PCs satisfying the conditions defined for the group.

"The new features that will be available in EMCO Remote Installer 5 will allow network administrators to configure installation packages and deployment targets independently and combine them in specific deployment tasks. Network administrators can share their configuration for packages and groups with colleagues to simplify their deployment configuration procedures", Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.
