Edgewater Networks Debuts High Capacity EdgeMarc 4750 Enterprise Session Border Controllers [Manufacturing Close - Up](Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Edgewater Networks reported that it has expanded its EdgeMarc suite of products with the EdgeMarc 4750 Enterprise Session Border Controller (ESBC). According to a release from the company, the EdgeMarc 4750 combines real time, high availability, management, networking, security features and capabilities for voice and data services into a single, easy-to-use ESBC. It is equipped to deliver performance for simultaneous services, including voice, voice quality monitoring, traffic management, high capacity data throughput and firewall. The device supports up to 100 concurrent calls and 1,000 registered devices while providing 100 Mbps throughput. "We are proud to add the EdgeMarc 4750 to our line of ESBC solutions as it fills a gap in the market for companies needing to simultaneously support voice and data traffic over high speed connections," said David G. Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks, Inc. "The addition of the EdgeMarc 4750 strengthens our ESBC line and firmly establishes EdgeMarc as the ultimate converged solution available on the market today." The EdgeMarc 4750 has been in field trials for several months prior to its launch. AiTech, a Minnesota-based service provider and a long-time Edgewater Networks customer has been part of the field trial. "We have been using the EdgeMarc 4750 for the last few months as a customer premise SBC in deployments on our Private Data Network," said Greg Lohrenz, CEO of AiTech. "The EdgeMarc 4750 allows us to support a multi-WAN link to enable traffic management and auto fail- over between data connections. It's a perfect security and optimization device for our Hosted PBX service which also allows us to support our customer's future needs."
