Computer & Network System inaugurated at SU Directorate of Admissions to ensure transparency


(Daily Regional Times (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) In order to ensure transparency in the admissions process of the University of Sindh Jamshoro, Computer & Network system (CNS) has been inaugurated at the Directorate of Admissions here on Thursday.



ViceChancellor Prof. Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili inaugurated the system. He on the occasion congratulated the staff concerned who prepared this software in an attempt to ascertain fair & clearness distribution of general, reserved and other concerned seats under merit for the academic year 2015.

By this newly introduced and implemented system, the paper work will be brought to an end while information regarding admissions will be disseminated online and the printed fees challans will be provided to the candidates after they are selected in various 58 disciplines. Due to implementation of CNS, the work load will be diminished at the directorate of admissions and the staff will only be bound to feed the data in the system in order to give admissions purely on merit. Similarly, for data repository, latest server is under process; by the time the data will be available on the computer data base system which is called MYSQL software.


The newly inaugurated admission system has been developed with the provision to integrate with current attendance management system. This will lead the university to the implementation of ISO certification. Speaking on the occasion, ViceChancellor Prof. Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili said that it was a thing of happiness that he was completing the pending projects on the campus so as to make the directorate of admissions transparent.

He said that everybody could succeed by expediting his work efficiency and touch the sky by working honestly adding that the university had computerized the admission forms which could be shifted to local area network easily. Dr. Ismaili further announced that the admission process will be made online from the upcoming academic year so that everything might be in the access of parents, stakeholders and the masses.

Vice Chancellor said that a number of staff will be deployed temporarily from the other sections of administration at the directorate of admissions for feeding the candidates' information that were willing to seek admissions for the academic year 2015. He expressed hope that the process of computerizing the data of the candidates and admissions will be completed in due course of time according to the catalogue.

"The software development team is also deployed at the directorate to scale the available system if need be". He said. Dr. Ismaili directed the officials concerned to link the Computer & Network System with already introduced 'students' online attendance and management system' in the days to come.

He said that the manual work was nowhere in the world as computer replaced it adding that the same practice was being done here at the university. "The manual work will not be allowed from the academic session 2014; with this the university will be completing very essential modules of the software for academic work management which is also the requirement of ISO certification; this is also under implementation". Dr. Ismaili maintained.

Among other Registrar SU Ghulam Mohammad Bhutto, PVC Naushehro Feroze campus Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Controllers of Examinations Mohammad Ali Roshan Pathan, Dr. Naeem Tariq Narejo, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Dr. Azhar Ali Shah, Incharge Director Admissions Abdul Majeed Panhwar, Director Campus Security Ghulam Nabi Kaka and Executive Secretary to VC Murtaza Khoso were also present on the occasion.
