Hundreds of Government and Industry IT Executives to Engage, Learn and Collaborate at ELC 2014

FAIRFAX, Va. --(Business Wire)--

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)) today announced the plenary session speakers and program agenda for the 24th Annual Executive Leadership Conference (ELC), the premier event in the government information technology (IT) community. This year's event will bring together over 850 government and industry leaders to engage, learn and collaborate in a new conference format that balances tradition and innovation. The event will take place October 26-28 in Colonial Williamsburg, Va.

"ELC is one of the most sought after tickets in government IT. We're thrilled to offer our attendees a new way to engage, learn and collaborate," said ELC 2014 Government Chair Adrian Gardner. "This year's event is going to be fast-paced and will offer a blend of small, medium and large team training and discussion areas to allow for greater customization of the event experience."

More than 40 experts across 14 government agencies, industry and academia will share their perspectives on leadership and innovation in radically changing times. Additionally, keynote speakers Dan Tangherlini, Administrator, U.S. General Services Administration and Frans Johansson, author of "The Medici Effect" and founder of the Medici Group will expand on ways agencies can carry out mission success. The dialogue will continue with Lisa Schlosser, the deputy associate administrator, Office of E-Government and IT, and interim CIO, to highlight leadership and innovation on the CXO Town Hall.

Collaboration ELC! is the newest addition to the event, which will take crowdsourcing innovation to the next level through three dedicated zones. The Innovation Zone will feature executives from award-nominated government programs from across the globe to examine IT problematic situations. The Challenge Zone will serve as the focal point for gathering ELC attendee ideas about possible solutions to the significant challenges faced by he public and private sector. Lastly, the Connection Zone will provide a location for attendees to gather and network with government and industry peers.

"This year's ELC will allow attendees to put their own signature on the future of government," said ELC 2014 Industry Chair Kathleen Cowles. "We'll be exploring actionable solutions to the toughest federal challenges. With three training sessions and more opportunities to collaborate than ever, there will be something for everyone."

ELC 2014 will feature two educational tracks to explore how agencies carry out their missions, providing efficient citizen services and smarter IT service delivery. The Shared Solutions track will address acquisition and technology drivers to increase sharing of service delivery. The track will also discuss how cybersecurity and risk are being managed across shared services. Panelists for the Shared Solutions track include Kathleen Turco, Chief Financial Officer, Veterans Health Administration; Richard Spires, former Department of Homeland Security CIO and Chief Executive Officer, Resilient Network Systems; and Jerry Johnson, Geospatial Information Officer, Department of Interior.

The Citizens Services track will provide attendees with a framework to better support constituents through government and industry cooperation. This track will feature distinguished panelists such as Gwynne Kostin, Director of the Digital Services Innovation Center, General Services Administration; David Bray, Chief Information Officer, Federal Communications Commission; Margie Graves, Deputy Chief Information Officer, Department of Homeland Security; and Karen Britton, Chief Information Officer and Special Assistant to the President, Executive Office of the President.
