Conexant Spotlights AudioSmart Solutions at Intel Innovation Week

SAO PAULO --(Business Wire)--

Conexant Systems Inc., an audio and imaging innovation leader, will be on hand this week at Intel's (News - Alert) Innovation Week Conference in Sao Paulo to showcase its AudioSmart™ solutions for PCs and tablets. Demonstrations of Conexant's Class-D amplifiers, which enable high quality audio; and its Smart Source Pickup (SSP) voice and speech processing software, which provides clear voice quality and dramatically improves VoIP communication quality and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) system performance, will be available at the conference.

Held at the Senac Santo Amaro Convention Center, Intel's Innovation Week - the Intel event of the year - brings together developers, hardware engineers, tech professionals and enthusiasts to discuss the latest market trends and innovations surrounding Intel platforms. Intel has invited Conexant to lead a discussion on voice and audio processing solutions during theUser Experience track sessions, which will take place on Thursday, September 25th at 11:05 in the Intel Quark™ room.

Featured in the User Experience discussion, Conexant's SSP voice and speech processing software provides clear voice quality and enables a better user experience by making challenges with background noise and competing sounds a thing of the past. Designed to work with any hardware CODEC, Conexant's AudioSmart software is based on its proprietary SSP noise suppression algorithm. SSP is a blind source separation technology that uses spatial representation of target speech and noise sources to reduce interference. Unlike competing technologies, speech and noise can arrive at any angle relative to the microphones; SSP even removes noise when it comes from the same direction as desired speech, and when the speaker is up to five meters away from the target device. SSP is also extremely effective at reducing keystroke noise distractions during conference calls and other computer-based voice communications.

Also highlighted during the discussion will be Conexant's CX20952 - an HD Audio CODEC that enables high quality audio on computers and tablets with low power consumption, two cap-free headphone amplifiers, and a fully-integrated Class-D amplifier. Part of Conexant's AudioSmart family, the CX20952 is also an intelligent device: it is a single-chip solution that monitors power delivered to speakers, ensuring maximum sound pressure level (SPL) and optimal performance without damage to system components.

"We're proud to have been invited by Intel to lead a discussion on voice and audio solutions," noted Saleel Awsare, Conexant vice president and general manager. "The User Experience track is the perfect avenue to share insights into the challenges that come with providing high quality audio in PCs and tablets. Our entire AudioSmart product line is designed to address consumer expectations for a better, clearer, richer audio experience."

Conference attendees are encouraged to attend the User Experience track sessions on September 25th, and to visit Conexant's suite (contact the Intel information kiosk for details) at the Sao Paulo Hilton Morumbi on September 26th, where they can get a first-hand look at Conexant's AudioSmart solutions in action.
