AXA ranks as one of the leading insurance companies for its sustainability performance

AXA remains a leading industry member of SRI indices DJSI World & DJSI Europe AXA's Corporate Responsibility Department has joined the Group Strategy, Sustainability and Public Affairs teams AXA remains in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) 'World' and 'Europe' in 2014, as announced by S&P Dow Jones Indices1 and RobecoSAM2 in the results of the 2014 DJSI review3 . Strong performance is noted across many areas including customer relationship management, business risks and opportunities, responsible procurement, environmental management, microinsurance, corporate governance and risk detection. These results follow on from AXA's designation earlier this year as the 1st sustainability performer in the insurance sector both by the ratings agency Vigeo4 and by Interbrand, for its 'Best Global Green Brands' ranking5 . This external recognition is a reflection of the increasing integration of corporate responsibility and sustainability issues into AXA's core business strategy. To promote this integration even further, AXA's Corporate Responsibility Department has joined the Group Strategy, Sustainability and Public Affairs teams in reporting directly to Christian Thimann, Member of the AXA Group Executive Committee, effective since the 1st of September 2014. 'This change in governance will reinforce AXA's ability to play its part in building a stronger and safer society, continuing to use its risk expertise to protect people over the long term', said Christian Thimann, Group Head of Strategy, Sustainability & Public Affairs and a member of AXA's Executive Committee.
