Sobo Social Sound Board: Speak, Don't Type

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

The Giant Pixel Corporation, an innovative startup studio focused on early-stage company building, is expanding mobile messaging options with Sobo, a social sound board app for the iOS community.

Instead of typing messages and status updates, Sobo users record them by speaking into the microphone on an iPhone (News - Alert) or iPad. These six-second "sound bites" are then broadcast to the entire Sobo social network. Sobo users can follow friends, colleagues, or any interesting person for easy access to their vocal status updates.

Sound bites recorded with Sobo can also be heard, liked, and shared via email, Fcebook, or Twitter (News - Alert).

"I've been working on Internet technology for over 20 years, and I've watched the plain text status update evolve," said Alan Braverman, a Giant Pixel co-founder and partner. "From the old school Unix 'wall' command, to the heyday of instant messaging, and then on to Tweets, users have been broadcasting status updates in plain text. With Sobo, we wanted to take the status update beyond plain text. Your Sobo followers hear your status updates in your own voice!"

Sobo users broadcast sound bites to shout "happy birthday" to a friend, cheer on their favorite team or coordinate a meet up.

Your followers want to hear from you, so make sure you update your sound bite every day!

Sobo is designed for the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and can be used on any device running iOS 7.0 or later. Sobo Social Sound Board is available for download in the iTunes App Store.
