LightPointe Rolls Out Ultra Low Latency Wireless Bridge [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LightPointe reported it is now shipping the new Aire X-Stream FSO solution optimized for telecom networks, which due to the exponential growth of mobile data, video, and voice applications require extremely fast and reliable wireless backhaul infrastructure.

According to a company release, the Aire X-Stream FSO is part of LightPointe's family of Ultra Low Latency (ULL) wireless bridges including 60 GHz and 70/80 GHz radios, and Free Space Optics laser links used to connect buildings or towers in Carrier and Enterprise networks where speed and synchronization are paramount to reliable communications. This is especially critical during call "hand off" when mobile users travel between cell sites, and to ensure overall voice and data transmission quality.

"Ultra Low Latency performance and synchronization are extremely important in today's wireless backhaul networks," said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, CEO of LightPointe Communications. "Our new Aire X- Stream FSO system not only transmits data extremely fast, it supports telecom networks utilizing the IEEE 1588 standard, also known as Precision Time Protocol or PTP. The Aire X-Stream FSO solution -- which reliably transmits data over eight laser beams per link -- supports all mobile wireless network synchronization schemes essential for a high degree of quality of service. And best of all, the solution is license free worldwide, immune to RF congestion issues, provides the highest wireless data transmission security possible, and is capable of 2.5 Gbps of aggregated capacity per link." LightPointe is a manufacturer of wireless Gigabit capacity bridges for enterprise and 4G/LTE carrier markets, including small cell backhaul.
