Oman : BANK SOHAR extends support to AUTISM CENTRE [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) In line with its initiative to reach out to the society through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, Bank Sohar lately offered monetary help to the autism centre of the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children for the fourth consecutive year.



The donation will be used towards the acquisition of essential items to facilitate the on-going functions of the centre. The help, which came in the form of a cheque, was handed over by Mazin Mahmood al Raisi, assistant general manger - head of marketing and publicity, Bank Sohar to Lubna Masood al Kindi, deputy chairperson of the association.

Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM, human resources and corporate help at Bank Sohar was also present on the event. Speaking on the effort, Munira said, We strongly believe that it is the role and responsibility of all large corporates to support the communities in which they operate.


The Autism Centre at the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children has made great strides in providing autistic children and their families with support and guidance. We consider it our responsibility as well as a privilege to support their efforts and help advance their important work; the results of which are priceless.

This donation marks the fourth time that Bank Sohar has helped the Autism Centre of the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children.

Apart from the Autism Centre, Bank Sohar has also supported a broad range of other charitable organisations across the sultanate in the present year, including Dar al Atta, Oman Road Safety Association, Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities, Creative Centre for Rehabilitation, Al Wafa Social Centre for Children with Disabilities, Oman Association for the Disabled (Muscat and Sohar branches) and the Al Noor Association for the Blind (Sohar, Salalah and Muscat branches).

The bank intends to carry on in its steadfast quest of philanthropy with many more donations and charitable events scheduled for the current year.

Meanwhile, Lubna thanked Bank Sohar for its support and said that, Autism is a lifelong developmental disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. While there is no cure, evidence has clearly shown that early intervention, delivered within a controlled and well managed programme can make a significant difference to a child's development. With this in mind, we at the Autism Centre strive to provide a better life for autistic children.
