Ringling College Launches 'Why Ringling' Engagement-Driven Website Featuring an Online Art Community

(GlobeNewswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ringling College of Art + Design today launched a new engagement experience website called "Why Ringling." Geared for students considering college, "Why Ringling" offers interaction with current and past students, peer reviews and an online art community.

"Why Ringling" offers prospective students an interactive discovery of Ringling College in an environment in which they feel comfortable," said VP of Marketing and Innovative Partnerships Rich Kaplan. "They can explore a gallery of work from students and alumni, learn the value of an education in art and design, and see the career opportunities and outcomes that other students are obtaining with a degree from Ringling."     The site covers student galleries, alumni success stories, industry and national awards, descriptions of discipline studies, and a list of companies that travel to Sarasota to recruit Ringling College graduating seniors.     Supported by a powerful content management system, "Why Ringling" was designed to respond to the manner in which Millennials surf the web.  "The forward-thinking design of the site will offer students the opportunity to view content in a way they prefer and on any device in which they wish to view it," said Holly Siegling, Ringling College Online Communications.

The site also includes an associated art community offering an international audience of art-enthusiasts the opportunity to come together to discuss art, college, and careers with their peers.  Further, the community is translated into multiple languages so that students internationally can connect without language barriers.

It is important young people considering any career are able to interact with students and graduates living that life so they can best understand their options and opportunities, and this is especially true in art and design," said Ringling College president Dr. Larry R. Thompson.

The "Why Ringling" site targets the entire 360 degree life cycle of an artist - from high school freshman to successful alumni - further positioning Ringling College of Art and Design as a leader in the promotion of art and art careers worldwide. http://whyringling.com About Ringling College of Art and Design Ringling College of Art and Design is a private, not-for-profit, fully accredited college offering the Bachelor's degree in these disciplines: Advertising Design, Business of Art & Design, Computer Animation, Digital Filmmaking, Fine Arts, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Motion Design, and Photography & Digital Imaging.
