In addition, HP Software has released new cloud connector APIs for IDOL OnDemand, giving developers the ability to retrieve data from a wide range of content repositories, including websites, to create a true information platform.

HP IDOL OnDemand is a complete solution for bringing extensive data analytics to your app and for augmenting your Big Data solution using REST APIs. The platform leverages the advanced data processing engine from HP Autonomy by exposing dozens of capabilities for understanding and analyzing unstructured human information. Developers can use these APIs to create consumer and enterprise applications that harness the wealth of information in social media, video, images, free text, and more.

'We're using IDOLOnDemand to develop new mobile business applications, and to improve some of our existing solutions,' said Dean Kinch, software manager at Gatewest, a leading UK IT consulting shop. 'IDOL OnDemand offers a strong set of API functionality, and we appreciate the regular enhancements and improvements to the platform. It is refreshing to work with a modern lightweight data format that is JSON. The website and API navigation is simple and intuitive as well as generating prompt and accurate responses from the community forums when needed. All of this makes working with IDOL OnDemand a joy.' Maximize access to disparate content repositories with IDOL OnDemand Cloud Connector APIs The latest IDOL OnDemand cloud connector release supports retrieval of information from the web. The web connector type can crawl a website, then allow the user to index the content in IDOL OnDemand's text indexing APIs. Once the content is indexed, it becomes available for use in dozens of other IDOL OnDemand APIs for further enrichment. By combining multiple IDOL OnDemand APIs, developers can create powerful services that tackle countless use cases.

Retrieve data across disparate content repositories for comprehensive access to all of your data Take unprecedented control over your cloud connectors with flexible configuration and provisioning options Combine cloud connector APIs with dozens of other IDOL OnDemand APIs for greater functionality The full range of existing HP Autonomy connectors, supporting technologies such as Sharepoint, ODBC and Documentum among many others, also provide IDOL OnDemand integration and are available on request.
