AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES IN TALKS WITH INDIAN HANDSET MAKERS(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Akamai Technologies, which helps companies deliver Internet content, is in talks with Indian handset makers like Karbonn, Spice and Videocon to bundle its compression software to help speed up connectivity on their devices. Its compression software will also ensure that less bandwidth is required to access a video or a high quality picture without compromising on quality. Akamai is working on pre- positioning content on the mobile when the device is in a Wi- Fi enabled area, so that the user can access even if there is limited second generation (2G) or third generation (3G) connectivity. |
