Nine Members Join Board of Overseers

MEINRAD, Ind., Sept. 17 -- St. Meinrad School of Theology issued the following news release: Six new, one returning and two emeritus members have joined the Board of Overseers, the advisory board for Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.



The board advises President-Rector Fr. Denis Robinson, OSB, on matters related to the school's programs and performance and addresses strategic questions related to the future of the school. Each member serves a three-year term.

The new members are James H. Muehlbauer, Joseph A. (Jay) Paradis III, Fr. Eric P. Schild, Michael A. Schwenk, Thomas L. Weintraut and C. Anne Wilmes. Maura G. Robinson is the returning member, and Monsignor John (Jack) J. Bendik and Jon Dilts are the emeritus members.


Jim Muehlbauer is vice chair at Koch Enterprises Inc. He is on the board of directors of Koch Enterprises, Anchor Industries and Fifth Third Bank-SW IN.

He is a director of Welborn Baptist Foundation, member of the USI Romain School of Business Board of Advisors and on the Quality Committee of Deaconess Hospital.

Muehlbauer received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in industrial administration from Purdue University.

Muehlbauer and his wife, Mary Kay, are members of Annunciation Parish in Evansville, IN, where he is involved in the Parish Council and the Spiritual Growth Committee. He is also a member of the Diocese of Evansville Finance Council.

Jay Paradis is chairman/CEO at Bramco Inc. He serves as trustee at the J. Graham Bacon Foundation and Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY. He has previously served on and chaired the boards of the American Printing House for the Blind, Kentucky Governors Scholars Program, J.B. Speed Art Museum, Kentucky Science Center, Louisville Community Foundation and Greater Louisville YMCA.

Paradis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Yale University, a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Virginia Law School, and completed the Advanced Management Program in the Business School at Harvard University. Paradis also received a Master of Arts degree from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.

He is a member of St. Bernadette Parish in Prospect, KY, and an associate parishioner at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Louisville, where he is a lector, Eucharistic minister and adult educator.

Fr. Eric Schild is the pastor of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge, OH. He is also the president of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School and St. Kateri Catholic Academy in Oregon, OH.

He is on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce and a trustee of the Oregon Economic Development Foundation. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and serves on the Bishop's Educational Council in the Diocese of Toledo.

Fr. Schild received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and communications from John Carroll University, and a Master of Science degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton. From Saint Meinrad School of Theology, he received his Master of Arts degree in Catholic Thought and Life and his Master of Divinity degree.

Michael Schwenk is vice president at Jasper Engines and Transmissions. He is a board member of Catholic Foundation of SW Indiana and on the Advisory Board of Vincennes University.

Schwenk received an electrical engineering degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN.

Schwenk and his wife, Pam, are members of Holy Family Parish in Jasper, IN, where he is involved in the Parish Council and the Holy Family School Foundation.

Thomas Weintraut is vice president of Weintraut and Associates Inc. Previously, he was owner of TMC Building Products and the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of ffi Corporation.

He has been a member of the SullivanMunce Museum and the American Institute of CPAs.

Weintraut received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Weintraut and his wife, Linda, are members of St. Alphonsus Church in Zionsville, IN, where he serves as an usher and Eucharistic minister and is involved in the Outreach Committee and Knights of Columbus. He was also on the Finance Council and the Parish Council.

C. Anne Wilmes is the vice president and co-founder of Wilmes Family Charitable Foundation.

She has held national roles in the Alpha Omicron Pi international women's fraternity and has served as director of volunteer recruitment. She has been a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter since 1981, where she was president in 1990-1992 and 2002-2004. She is a member of the Indianapolis Alumnae Panhellenic, where she has served as vice president, secretary and president.

Wilmes earned a bachelor's degree in special education from the University of Evansville.

Wilmes and her husband, Art, are members of St. Christopher's Parish in Speedway, IN, where she is a Eucharistic minister, Pastoral Council member, Connected in the Spirit planning process member and Volunteer Committee chair. She has also volunteered at Cardinal Ritter High School, St. Christopher School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

Maura Robinson is the president and CEO of M.G. Robinson Inc. in Evansville, IN. She is the author of The Inclusion Revolution is Now.

Robinson received her bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Evansville and a Master of Public Administration from Indiana State University. She is Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise certified.

She is on the board of directors for United Way of Southern Indiana. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the National Society for Hispanic Professionals, the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Speakers Association.

She and her husband, Mark, are members of Good Shepherd Parish. Robinson is an associate of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.

Msgr. Jack Bendik is pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Pittston, PA.

He was a founder of the Cooperative Action for Community Development social outreach program at Saint Meinrad. Because of that experience, his parish has started a free health clinic for the uninsured, a free pediatric clinic for infants and children, a food pantry and a kids clothes closet.

He is an alumnus of Saint Meinrad College and Saint Meinrad School of Theology. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Saint Meinrad.

Msgr. Bendik serves as dean for the priests and parishes of Northern Luzerne County and is a member of the Council of Priests. He is also a member of the board of trustees of Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, and the Greater Pittston Ministerium. He is a former board member of the Saint Meinrad Alumni Association.

He joined the Board of Overseers in 2000 and is a former board chair.

Jon Dilts is a retired Indiana University journalism professor and a registered civil mediator and attorney. He currently is president of the Bloomington Rotary Foundation.

He is the author, with Ralph Holsinger, of the textbook, Media Law, and the author of a book about Indiana's courthouses, called The Magnificent 92.

Dilts has a bachelor's degree in English from Saint Meinrad College, a master's degree in journalism and political science from Indiana University, and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.

He and his wife, Anne, live in Bloomington, IN, and are members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.

Dilts joined the Board of Overseers in 1992 and is a former board chair.
