Google launches the first trio of "Android One" devices [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Google has launched its first low-cost and quality controlled Android smartphones under the Android One initiative in India. Usually, low-cost Android phones lack dual cameras, and are loaded with bloated Android OS and outdated hardware. Google realizes that the low-cost market also deserves quality devices, and with the partnership of Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, they have launched the first wave of Android One devices- the Micromax Canvas A1, the Karbonn Sparkle V and the Spice Dream UNO.

All three devices sport the same hardware- 4.5-inch IPS FWVGA screen, 1.3 Ghz MediaTek quad core processor, 1GB of RAM (finally), 4GB internal storage with expandable memory via MicroSD, 5MP rear with LED flash and 2MP snappers, a 1700 mAh battery, 3G/2G, WiFi, GPS and pure stock Android 4.4 KitKat OS along with dual-SIM support and FM-tuner integration.

Google says that Android One devices will receive automatic updates for two years, so you can bet on Android L too. The new smartphones will be available from today afternoon from top e-commerce portals of India- Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India for 6,399 Rupees (384 AED only). So if you're looking for a good low-cost Android handset and you have someone in India, wait no further.

Additionally, Google confirmed that HTC, ASUS, Acer, Panasonic, and Lenovo are joining the Android One program, along with Qualcomm. It's just a matter of time when Google expands the Android One initiative worldwide.
