Webroot posts strong revenue and customer growth in fourth quarter to cap outstanding fiscal 2014 [ITWeb]

(ITWeb Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Webroot (http://www.webroot.com/), the market leader in cloud-based, real-time Internet threat detection, today announced achievements from its fourth quarter and 2014 fiscal year operations which ended 30 June, 2014.

Highlights from the fourth quarter include double-digit year-over-year revenue growth, surpassing one million business endpoints under protection, massive expansion of the company's network of managed service providers (MSPs) and other channel partners, the release of new threat intelligence services, and entry into the large enterprise market segment.

Significant year-over-year revenue growth Webroot achieved significant revenue growth in the fourth fiscal quarter, driven by strong license sales in the consumer, small-medium business (SMB) and OEM segments which reported year-over-year increases of 11%, 41% and 20% respectively. This also resulted in significant expansion of the company's customer base with over one million SMB endpoints and nearly 7.5 million consumer devices under protection.

"I am very pleased with the company's performance through the last fiscal year. Consumers and SMBs are switching to SecureAnywhere solutions in record numbers, we've built a very productive network of MSPs and other channel partners, and we recently expanded into the large enterprise market with our BrightCloud threat intelligence services," said Dick Williams, Webroot CEO. "With a very robust sales pipeline, and a plan to deliver several significant enhancements across our portfolio, we are extraordinarily well positioned to deliver even stronger results in fiscal year 2015." Channel drove expansion in FY2014 Webroot sharpened its focus on channel development in FY2014 by signing several new MSPs, value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors. This expansion increased the number of partners in Webroot's global channel network by 146% over the prior year. New partners include Softwerx (UK), Achab (Italy), Bluechip Infotech (Australia), and Perbandaran Subang Jaya and Universiti Industri Selangor (Malaysia).

Other channel announcements included expanded integration within LabTech Software's leading remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform, new integration within ConnectWise's Professional Services Automation (PSA) software, and the integration with Spiceworks' IT management platform.

New security solutions introduced Webroot introduced several new services and technical innovations throughout the fiscal year. Recent announcements included entry into the large enterprise customer segment and the introduction of BrightCloud Security Services for Enterprise. The first services within this portfolio, BrightCloud for Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) (http://www.brightcloud.com/enterprise/ip-rep-pan.php)and BrightCloud® for Security (http://www.brightcloud.com/enterprise/ip-rep-siem.php)Information and Event Management (SIEM), (http://www.brightcloud.com/enterprise/ip-rep-siem.php)enable enterprises to integrate predictive Webroot threat intelligence into their IT infrastructure to identify and block malicious IPs sooner and limit the effects of security breaches. These integrated solutions now deliver enterprise customers with the same threat intelligence that leading security providers such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and RSA have licensed for their security solutions.

Webroot also introduced the  Webroot SecureAnywhere Global Site Manager (http://www.webroot.com/shared/pdf/WSAB_Global-Site-Manager_DS.pdf), an advanced management console for use with its SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection solution. This cloud-based management environment provides enterprises and MSPs with new provisioning features, hierarchical management views and scalability to thousands of endpoints to administer large and complex SecureAnywhere deployments.

In addition, Webroot announced  Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus for PC Gamers (http://www.webroot.com/gamer), to address the security needs of the gaming community who often sacrifice protection by turning off their security to maximise system performance.

Industry accolades Throughout the year, cloud-based Webroot security solutions again received industry recognition for superior functionality and performance. Webroot was named as a Visionary in  Gartner's Magic   (http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/press-room/releases/webroot-named-as-visionary-in-gartner-magic-quadrant-for-endpoint-protection)Quadrant (http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/press-room/releases/webroot-named-as-visionary-in-gartner-magic-quadrant-for-endpoint-protection)for Endpoint Protection Platforms, and also received the highest Net Promoter scores of any vendor in the Magic Quadrant comparison.
