ACT-IAC Awards Program to Recognize IT Innovations Making an Impact on Government

FAIRFAX, Va. --(Business Wire)--

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council's (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)) Institute for Innovation today announced its call for nominations for "Igniting Innovation 2015 Showcase and Awards." The program's objective is to recognize innovations throughout government with a focus on technology. The submission deadline is November 6th, 2014. Last year's inaugural event attracted more than 700 attendees and 80 nominations.

"This Institute for Innovation program was extremely successful last year in bringing recognition to the teams of government and industry IT professionals who bring innovative thinking into the products, services, systems and solutions that they develop," said Andy Robinson, Chair of the Institute for Innovation and senior vice-president at ICF International. "We encourage innovations developed by government, industry, or in collaboration. From the Top 30 innovations to the final selection, there will be unprecedented exposure for participants, both from live attendees and media."

In addition to accepting a wide variety of nominations, the "Igniting Innovation 2015 Showcase and Awards" program stands out among other industry awards in several key ways:

  • Combines an IT innovation solution showcase with an award program delivering a collaborative educatinal forum for all participants
  • Uses a unique judging process that integrates public social media voting and the live Showcase
  • Offers broad media exposure, including invitations to speak at future ACT-IAC events open to government and industry
  • Charges no fees for nominations, attendance, or exhibition

The Showcase and recognition program is open to all and is scheduled for February 5th, 2015 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. As submissions from around the country are expected, nominees should ensure they are able to attend the Showcase that day.
