SISTEMA SHYAM GETS LICENCE TO OFFER DOMESTIC LONG-DISTANCE CALLS


(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) has bagged the national long-distance (NLD) licence from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). This will allow SSTL to offer domestic long-distance calls on its own network. At present, the company, which provides telecom services under the MTS brand, provides domestic long-distance services (STD) using Tata Teleservices NLD network. The effective date of the licence is 3 Sep 2014 with 20-year validity. The company had paid a fee of Rs2.5 crore for the NLD licence.
