NT looks to add 2.25 million net new users in 2014/15 [TeleGeography CommsUpdate]

(TeleGeography CommsUpdate Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) State-owned Nepal Telecom (NT) has revealed that it expects to sign up 2.25 million net new fixed and mobile customers in its financial year to mid-July 2015. The firm currently claims 10.09 million cellular subscribers and is aiming to add around two million new users in the current fiscal year, while it also expects to add 200,000 CDMA fixed wireless subscribers plus up to 50,000 ADSL internet and fixed telephony users, local newspaper Republica writes. NT says it is in the process of expanding its 3G mobile coverage and is also looking to deploy triple-play voice, data and TV services over next-generation fixed infrastructure.
